ASSESSMENT OF HIDDEN HEARING LOSS IN NOISE EXPOSED WORKERS

Aim:To evaluate hidden hearing loss (HHL) in industrial workers using the extended high frequency audiometry(EHFA) and ABR wave I amplitude during routine follow-up visits to audiology clinic identify managehidden as early possible. Materials Methods: This study is comprised of two groups: group which consisted 50 adultindustrial workersattending audio-vestibular medicine for their control 20 adults with bilateral normal peripheral range 250-8000 Hz, including 3 6 kHz without any history occupational noise exposure. Both groups were age sex-matched. Results: Results showed statistically significant differences between patient regards thresholds EHFA at 12 16 KHz. In addition, there was reduction amplitudes groups. Conclusion: Combining high-frequency audiometry measurements methods detection audibility declines upon exposure well an warning hair cell damage advised.
